EventsTheatre Production: Belonging, Becoming
Karibu — our inter-cultural, inter-generational performing arts program — presents Belonging, Becoming, a theatre production for social change.
Built through the 4Ds — drumming, dance-singing, dialogue and drama — the production shares stories of finding home in a new land while staying rooted in heritage. It is theatre made with the community, for the community: performers across generations and cultures rehearsing, questioning, and celebrating together.
Since 2013, Karibu has carried African drumming, dance and drama into public spaces across Saskatchewan — from the Cathedral Arts Fest to seniors’ homes and Canadian Multicultural Day. Belonging, Becoming continues that tradition, sparking dialogue and cultural exchange wherever it plays.
